Born and raised among the art, architecture & gnocchi of Rome, Italy, Francesca leapt over the ocean to pursue her acting dream and in this wild pursuit kept banging up against a painful obstacle: her back. Coined as her "saving grace," she stumbled upon Laughing Lotus and class after class, through the warriors into chatturanga and all the way through and to savasana, she healed her back. Spinning this obstacle into a fruitful web, it led her to a new passion: teaching yoga. Grateful for this opportunity, her loved ones and inspiration itself: Francesca teaches yoga to learn how to face herself everyday in an honest and curious way and hopes to inspire other to do the same.
Francesca spent long hours sitting in acting class during her first three years living in New York with deep pain in her lower back. Her swimming routine soon became unsustainable without an allay; which is when she stumbled upon Yoga. Thanks to Yoga, a seemingly inevitable back surgery transformed into an inevitable asana practice. Laughing Lotus appeared in her life like a vision one gloomy day while walking down 19th street and years later she was introduced to the Magical teachings of Nevine Michaan at Katonah Yoga.
Grateful to her great friends and teachers Elian Zach and David Shames who she has had the fortune to collaborate with in creating Woom Center. At Woom, sound meditation and Yoga merge, bringing together all senses for a multi sensorial experience. She is honored to have the privilege to be Directing the yoga and Mentoring the Guides in a place where all senses collide.
In my classes I seek to merge the importance of class structure and boundaries with the infinite possibility of freedom and movement within that structure. I am grateful for all of my teachers and students who continue to inspire and keep me moving.
